OUTSPOKEN farmer and writer Robin Page is to battle it out for a seat in the European Parliament.
He will stand as a candidate for the United Kingdom First Party, the breakaway organisation founded by disgruntled former members of UKIP, the United Kingdom Independence Party.
As the News has reported, the First Party claims that UKIP is "imploding" and has accused some of its elected MEPs of being seduced by the "Euro gravy train".
Barton-based Mr Page, famous for hosting TV's One Man And His Dog, is a former UKIP member.
He said: "I have decided to stand for the United Kingdom First Party at the European Elections in June. It has been a long and hard decision. I want to spend my time farming and writing, but the state of our country is more important, so I must be involved.
"The British people, me included, have been let down by those who misrule them. Our culture, our freedom and our democracy are being eroded as our politicians stand idly by claiming their generous salaries and expenses paid for by us. It is an outrage, and at the heart of this outrage is Europe - the undemocratic superstate of Europe that has destroyed our agriculture, our fisheries, our legal system, our borders, our industries and has done nothing to prevent economic meltdown.
"As all this has been happening our politicians have not been 'fiddling while Rome burns', they have been filling their pockets from the European gravy train and forgetting why they were elected."
Mr Page, who served as an independent councillor on South Cambridgeshire District Council for 36 years, stood down in 2006, claiming local politics "reeked of political deceit and corruption". He stood again for the council last year, but failed to get elected.
He was arrested in 2008 on suspicion of incitement to racial hatred after police received a complaint about a pro-hunting speech. He claimed wrongful arrest and was awarded an out-of-court settlement of £2,000.

good luck to Robin Page and it is good to see a new party emerge to challenge the dishonesty and corruption of EUkip yet campaign to extricate these United Kingdoms from vassal status of the EU with over 80% of our laws being made in Brusells where the balance 20% must be EU compliant - no wonder Westminster has devolved to expenses fiddles and The Brown Machine poison.
EUkip itself with at least 4 of its remaining 10 MEPs under Police &/or OLAF investigation - meanwhile EUkip believe it is acceptable to parachute in an Argentinian born Spanish resident as a leading MEP candidate and in The Eastern Region the fantasist David Bannerman who claims wrongly to be a close relation of a long past British PM who had no progeny!

TO LEAVE THE EU
What is the exit and survival plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits of leaving The EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our border.
NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.
Politicians are failing to tell the truth, but so are almost all wanabe Politicians, the MSM and Snivil Cervants.
The fact is that even if EVERY British MEP wanted change in The EU it would achieve NOTHING.
Every single British Politician, of EVERY Party, elected since before we joined the EUropean Common Market, has promised to change The EU's CAP - In 40 Years they have achieved absolutely NOTHING!
To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we leave our children and the future, with shame!

I SUGGEST – where UKFirstParty is not standing and there is thus clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning for withdrawal of these United Kingdoms from the EU and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country.
Deny the self seeking & meaningless wanabe MEPs the Mythical Mandate for which they clamour. Diktat is imposed from The EU but Law should be made at Westminster, for our Country & our Peoples.
